The countdown is on and we need your help! 10000 Tonight is Wednesday, December 11th from 5 to 10 pm!
Several years ago, the 10,000 Tonight event was launched at Belmont with the goal to collect 10,000 non-perishable food items in a single night. Since then, it has become the Westshore’s biggest non-perishable food drive.
This year, SD62 is proud to have all three secondary schools working together to make 10000 Tonight the best one of the decade! All food collected by Royal Bay and Belmont students will be donated to the Goldstream food bank. Edward Milne students will be collecting items in Sooke and area to donate to the Sooke Food Bank.
On the big day, volunteer students and parent drivers will hit the street of the Western Communities, picking up non-perishable food donations along the way, such as canned goods, pasta noodles, cookies, and much more. As long as donations aren’t expired or dented, they will be accepted. They will gratefully accept cash donations as well. If you hear a knock at your door – be ready with a donation! Or drop off your donation at your nearest secondary school!
Thanks for your help feeding the hungry this holiday season and well beyond!
